How to Clean a Boat Using Charlie's Soap Eco-friendly Products

If you’re excited to get on the water this gorgeous summer season in your boat, then here are some go to tips for keeping your boat looking ship shape all summer long!

To keep your boat looking and feeling pristine for all your summer boating events, cleaning your boat will be easy peasy lemon squeezy with Charlie’s Soap Indoor/Outdoor Surface Cleaner and spray, and Charlie’s Soap Laundry Powder or Liquid.

Just fill up your wash bucket with water and mix in a ¼ cup of Charlie’s Soap Indoor/Outdoor Surface Cleaner per 19 litres of water. The recommended brushes to use are soft and medium bristle heads on a telescope pole so you’re not breaking your back or your bank while scrubbing, as well as a microfibre cloth.

Start by attaching the soft bristle brush to the telescope pole for the exterior, or hull, of your boat. Don’t worry about runoff because Charlie’s Soap Indoor/Outdoor Surface Cleaner is biodegradable and the softer brush bristles are gentle on the high gloss finish areas of your boat. For an additional bonus, Charlie’s Soap Indoor/Outdoor Surface Cleaner will even wash any boating accessories like paddles, skis, sails if your boat is a sailboat, even your trailer hitch to get your boat to the water!

You’ll want to use the medium bristle brush on the deck of your boat, or any other surface of your boat that has a rough texture to tackle dirt with a deeper clean. You can also use the medium brush on your seats too! Remember to keep any seat compartments open to let them air out after washing to let them breathe properly, just as you can breathe easy knowing you’re eliminating your carbon footprint with eco-friendly choices.

The Indoor/Outdoor Surface Cleaner has a chance to work best when you allow it to sit after scrubbing for approximately 5 minutes and then scrub and hose it off with fresh water.

Next, with Charlie’s Soap Indoor/Outdoor Surface Cleaner Spray bottle, spray where the engine is kept allowing the treatment to sit for roughly 5 minutes, and rinse off with fresh water. If your boat has electronics, give the microfibre cloth a spray to clean those surfaces for a gentle wipe-down preventing damage or becoming waterlogged.

Fill up a separate tub of fresh water and add 1 TBSP of Charlie’s Soap Laundry Powder or 1 fl. oz. of Charlie’s Soap Laundry Liquid and hand-wash so all the extra odours and bacteria can be cleaned from bathing suits, wet and dry suits, life jackets, and water shoes. Then rinse them out with fresh water, or a hose if possible, and hang dry.

SImply follow these super simple instructions to maintain your boat and be proud to show it off to your family and friends as you ride in style all summer long!
